Sandy Dennis was born on April 27, 1937 in Hastings, Nebraska. She grew up in Kenesaw and Lincoln, Nebraska. She was a high school classmate of Dick Cavett. She attended Nebraska Wesleyan University and the University of Nebraska. She performed at the Lincoln Community Theater.
