Arbor Day

Arbor Day was started in 1872 by J. Sterling Morton in Nebraska City, Nebraska. Today every state celebrates Arbor Day. The custom is to plant a tree. On the first Arbor Day on April 10, 1872, an estimated 1,000,000 trees were planted.

I used this photo of a tree because to me, it shows the strength of a tree that can grow out of a rock. I took this photo on Scottsbluff.
